 | Description Ciclopirox cream, lotion, and topical solution are prescribed for the
treatment of minor fungal and yeast skin infections such as athlete`s foot, jock itch, ringworm. Ciclopirox gel is used for athlete`s foot, fungal infections of the non-hairy
parts of the skin, and certain scalp inflammations (seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp). It is an antifungal agent that works by stopping the growth of fungus. |  | How to Use Ciclopirox is applied, twice daily or as directed by your doctor. Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a small amount of the medication to the affected area and
gently rub it. The hands should be washed immediately after application. In order to see a noticeable difference, it may take one to two weeks. Avoid contact with eyes and
mucous membranes. Shake Ciclopirox lotion vigorously before each use. Store this medication at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away
from moisture and light. Tightly replace cap after each use. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. |  | side effects Some of the most common side effects
observed when Ciclopirox is first applied to the skin are Itching, burning, stinging or redness. These should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the medication
but if any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor immediately. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness,
trouble breathing. If you notice other side-effects which are not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. |  | interaction If this medication is used with certain other drugs, the
effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Hence, it is necessary to consult your doctor before using any medication. Tell your doctor or pharmacist of all
prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use. Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first. |  | overdose If you exceed the
recommended dose of this medicine, seek emergency medical attention. You may contact your local poison control center. US residents can call the US national poison
hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. This medication may be harmful if swallowed. |  | Missed Dose If you miss a dose of
this medicine and you are using it regularly, apply it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing
schedule. |  | uses Ciclopirox is
used to treat minor fungal and yeast skin infections such as athlete`s foot, jock itch, ringworm. This medication may not work well for infections on the nails, for areas of
very thick skin (e.g., palms of hands or soles of feet), or for persistent or frequent infections. Oral drugs may be needed for these cases. Discuss with your doctor for more
details. |  | precaution Before using Ciclopirox, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. Tell your doctor about your medical history,
especially of persistent/large area/frequent fungal skin infections, toenail/fingernail infections, immune system problems (e.g., organ transplant, HIV disease). This
medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether this drug passes into
breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. | |
