Desyrel Description
Trazodone (Desyrel) is an antidepressant, that helps to lift mental depression. It can help patients whose depression has not responded to other medications, or who have experienced limiting side effects with other antidepressants. Trazodone may also be used to treat other conditions such as problems sleeping, anxiety, and panic attacks.
Desyrel (Trazodone) may also be described as a white, odorless and crystalline powder by nature.Moreover, Desyrel (Trazodone) may also be described as a Triazolopyridine derivative that dissolves easily in water.
How to Use Desyrel
May be taken with food to prevent stomach upset. Take this as prescribed. Try to take each dose at the same time(s) each day so you remember to routinely take it. Do not stop taking this medication without your doctor's approval. Nausea, headache or fatigue can occur if the drug is suddenly stopped.
Desyrel Side Effects
This drug may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of appetite, dry mouth, strange taste in mouth, anxiety, restlessness or sweating. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Notify your doctor promptly if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, difficulty urinating, blood in the urine, nightmares, uncoordinated movements. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: black stools, "coffee ground" vomit, easy bruising/bleeding. Males - if you experience painful and prolonged erections, stop using this drug and seek immediate medical attention. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Keep all appointments with your doctor and the laboratory. Your doctor will order certain lab tests to check your response to trazodone (Desyrel).
It is very important for the patient to know that before consuming Desyrel (Trazodone) they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from bipolar disorders, uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages or suicidal attempts.
Furthermore, it is also very important for the patient to be aware of the fact that while consuming Desyrel (Trazodone) they must avoid drinking grapefruit juice.
Desyrel Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Desyrel Precaution
Before Taking Trazodone (Desyrel), tell your doctor if you have had a recent heart attack or have ever had:
heart disease or high blood pressure, glaucoma
an enlarged prostate
difficulty urinating
seizures
an overactive thyroid gland
liver or kidney disease
tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
if you become pregnant while taking trazodone, call your doctor immediately.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking trazodone (Desyrel).
remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug. |
